The Brain-Cognition-Behaviour Doctoral School (ED3C), co-accredited at Sorbonne Université (SU), Université de Paris (UP) and Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), is made of up of teams working in the fields of neurosciences and cognitive sciences from SU, UP, ENS, Collège de France, ESPCI, Institut Pasteur, CEA and Institut Curie.
ED3C's scientific policy is therefore strongly influenced by multi-disciplinary principles and links with both the humanities and mathematical modelling. This has led to the recruitment of humanities students, mathematics students and engineers from the French "grandes écoles" and to these students being assigned doctoral research contracts.
PhD students at ED3C enrol for their course at Sorbonne Université, Université de Paris or PSL, according to their source of funding and host laboratory. The registration procedures may differ according to the institution dealing with the administrative registration, but all applicants must have the authorisation of the ED3C's director before registering at one of the three universities.
