Welcome to our Doctoral School website
The Brain, cognition, behaviour Doctoral School (ED3C), co-accredited at Sorbonne Université (SU), Université de Paris (UP) and Université Paris Sciences et Lettres (PSL), is made of up of research teams working in the fields of neurosciences and cognitive sciences from SU, UP, ENS, Collège de France, ESPCI, Institut Pasteur, CEA and Institut Curie.
More than 400 PhD students carry out their thesis work within ED3C, which brings together around 35 laboratories.
ED3C's scientific policy is therefore strongly influenced by multi-disciplinary principles and links with both the humanities and mathematical modelling. This has led to the recruitment of humanities students, mathematics students and engineers from the French "grandes écoles".
PhD students at ED3C enrol for their course at Sorbonne Université, Université de Paris or PSL, according to their source of funding and host laboratory. The registration procedures may differ according to the institution dealing with the administrative registration, but all applicants must have the authorisation of the ED3C's director before registering at one of the three universities.
